This Buy it Now auction is for a U.S. Military issue Alice Pack Rucksack Backpack. The “DSA” Defense Supply Administration stock numbers changed to “DLA” Defense Logistics Administration stock numbers in the year 1978. There were smaller size Alice Pack Rucksacks in the 1960s, and then there started to be a larger size Alice Pack Rucksack in the year 1974. The Alice Pack Rucksack offered here for sale is the M-1974 larger size version. The printed Quartermaster information has faded away. There is still a “US” marking on the backpack. One shoulder strap has a faded “DLA” stock number with a “-81-C” 1981 contract date. The waste support strap has a “DLA” stock number with a “-88-C” 1988 contract date. The interior rubberized lining is cracked and flaking. There is a leather knife scabbard sewn onto the side of the backpack. There are some extra metal hooks on the top of the backpack. There is some sticking repairs to rip damage. These items are old and in Used Condition with wear damage from use. These items have sun fading, dirt stains, rust stains, scratches, dents, paint loss, oxidation to the metal parts, rip hole damage, etc. There are soldier name and number markings. These items are no longer in the perfect condition that they once were in the day they were originally first manufactured. These items are both damaged from having been used, and damaged from being old. Time slowly destroys old things. These are old relic items. These items will not be able to fit inside a Large size USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. It will have to be mailed in a package around the size of 15 Inches, by 23 Inches, by 6 Inches. The metal frame makes this backpack a larger size bulky item to mail. Expect the shipping cost to be expensive. I show a composite reference photo set of what other Alice Packs have already sold for on Ebay. This is to try and establish value. Nothing in the reference photos is offered for sale. Only the old Alice Pack Backpack is offered for sale. Each shoulder strap part is worth between $15.00 to $30.00. The metal frame is worth between $50.00 to $100.00. The main backpack part is worth between $60.00 to $100.00. Most seem to sell between $50.00 to $130.00. An Alice Pack Backpack has a retail value of around $130.00. That is what they are really worth. Condition: For Legal reasons, the items in this listing are stated as “Used Condition”. What is a “Used Condition” item? It is an item that is in “Poor Terrible Condition”. They are better condition than “Dug Relic Condition” items. Items are no longer like how they were the day they were first manufactured. Items have been used by someone Decades ago in another Century. Items will have defects and damage from having been used. The older something is, the worse the condition will be. Wool items will have Moth holes. Expect Moth damage to old wool items. Expect clothing to have dirt stains, frayed cuffs and collars. Expect there to be Mildew and Mold damage stains. The item was rough weighed in an open box. I then put the rough shipping weight into the eBay Calculated Shipping. eBay calculated the shipping cost, not me. I have mailed items in the past to: (Brazil, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Malta, Hungry, Belgium, Taiwan, etc.) I will use the Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes as much as I can. The local Post Office gives those boxes out to use. No “Free Shipping”, the buyer has to pay 100% the shipping cost. Ebay Incorporated charges you their “Calculated Shipping” amounts. I don’t do the shipping cost amounts. There will be no shipping refunds. I can not save you any money with “Combined Shipping”. They have lost items I have mailed. I will only mail International packages to your direct address overseas outside the USA.
