Description Fender Custom Shop MBS 1961 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Violin Burst Master Built by Austin MacNutt SN. AM0129 Items won at the Fender Custom Shop Japan Limited Selection Model Lottery held in March 2024 have arrived. It’s no exaggeration to say that the combination of an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood slab board is the Stratocaster that guitar fans most often imagine. The tone, which is glittering yet has a firm presence in the mid-low range, is reminiscent of many great performances. The wild middle that expands and sticks when driven is perfect for rock and blues! At 3.44kg, it has a weight that is typical of an alder/rose Stratocaster, and the wild, thick, and violent low mid gives it an old smell in a good way. The neck shape of the 60s Style Oval C is a C shape that is neither too thin nor too thick. On the fingerboard, a 7.25 radius fingerboard R is used on the small traditional style frets. By firmly grasping the neck and firmly attacking the strings, the instrument will reveal its own personality and respond with vibrations, making you reaffirm the origin of the fun of playing Fender. I also recommend it to those who regularly use vintage Fenders, as I think it’s easy to play and change hands. The installed pickup is a hand-wound 60s Strat PU set by Ms. Josefina Campos, a representative craftsman of Fender Custom Shop, which firmly absorbs the sharp and large vibrations of the guitar body while producing a wonderful response and delicate sound. The depth of his ability to guide players through his expressiveness is truly impressive. The Tone control is wired so that it can be applied to all positions, and each has a neck PU tone, middle & bridge PU tone layout. Austin MacNutt will be promoted to Master Builder in 2022. He has been repairing guitars since he was a teenager in his hometown of Canada, and after graduating from high school, he honed his skills at a famous guitar craft school in Hollywood. After that, while focusing on training the next generation, he was discovered by Ron Thorn, who had previously demonstrated his skill as a Principal Master Builder, and started making instruments at Thorn Guitars, and became a Fender Custom Shop Master Builder who produces the highest quality instruments. He is an up-and-coming builder who has acquired the skills and knowledge befitting his appointment, and who continues to evolve.His beautiful and careful work with attention to detail is impressive, and he is expected to continue to do great things in the future.
